TNPSC Changed  TNPSC Group 1 Exam Date to 20th July 2014

This year TNPSC Group 1 2014 Exam had been scheduled to be conducted on 26-04-2014. Now the exam date has been postponed to 20-07-2014. This change of exam date is due to parliament election which will be held on 24-04-2014 . Since the revenue department staff and the teachers who will be deployed in the Group 1 Exam duty will also be involved in the election duty. It is reported in the Dinamalar Newspaper that some revenue department staff associations have sent representation about the change of TNPSC Group 1 Exam 2014 to TNPSC Secretary.
 
Every Year TNPSC conducts TNPSC Group 1 Exam to fill the state's top most service vacancies like Deputy Collector, DSP, Asst. Commissioner in Commercial Tax etc. Usually, there will be less than 30 total vacancies in this exam. But this year the number of vacancies has been remarkably increased to 79.

Salary of the TNPSC Group 1 Officers -Rs.15,600-39,100/-(PB3) + 5400/-G.P


(A fresher can get nearly about Rs.45,000/- per month as salary )

Can Final Year Degree Students Apply for TNPSC Group 1 Exam ?


 Yes, the TNPSC notificatioin  says "The candidates, who have written the final year degree examination, may also apply for thePreliminary Examination for direct recruitment to the posts included in Group-I Services, subject to the condition that they should produce proof of having passed the degree examination when admitted to the Main Written Examination, failing which they will not be admitted to the Main Written  Examination."

    Sir, I am preparing for tnpsc and tnpsc only... I am B.E engineering graduate and having two years experience in IT industry. What i want to know is, most of my friends and relatives are discouraging and confusing by saying that now a days tnpsc started to slow down its process in releasing its results. there is not much transperancy so u cannot trust tnpsc. start preparing for bank exams, banks are more trustable than tnpsc... i cant concentrate on my studies. all i want to know is if i sincerely work hard and get good marks can i get into tnpsc. pls help.

      You can prepare both Group 2 Mains and Group 1 Prelims, unlike TNPSC Group 1 Mains which will have only descriptive questions, in Gr 2 mains you will have very less descriptive and more objective type questions. So it will be useful for Group 1 Prelims also. All the best !

      Dear Usha, I already mentioned that Samacheerkalvi books are only fundamental for all TNPSC Group Exams, for Group 1 exam you have to study some more books such as Indian Polity by Lakhsmi Kanth, etc.

      Please answer the following questions

      Did you register for One TIme Registration Separately

      or

      Directly to TNPSC Group 1 Prelims Exam Only

      If you have registered one time registration separately , you should register for TNPSC Group 1 Preliminary Exam Separately again

      If you have registered with out one time reg. directly tnpsc gr 1, there is no need for any other registration, you can use the same id and password to download the hallticket.

      Please ask TNPSC helpline numbers if you want any more clarification

    Am I eligible for TNSPC Group 1 exam?

    This is my first appearance and preparation and I am eager for the same. If I am sure that I am eligible, I would be happy and invest myself 100% for the preparation.

      In TNPSC Group 1 2014 advertisement, it is said

      Note:-
      (i) “The qualification prescribed for these posts should have been obtained by passing the required qualification in the order of studies 10th + HSC (or its equivalent)+ U.G. degree.

      See there is a word HSC or its equivalent, so I think you are eligible to apply. Anyhow please make a call to TNPSC Office, the phone numbers available on their website www.tnpsc.gov.in and confirm that. All the best !

      Yes BE holders can write all exams with eligibility of SSLC, HSC, Degree and BE. Eg. TNPSC Group 4, 2, 2A, VAO, Group 1, Combined Engineering Services Exams

      only 3 times fee exemption are available for bc candidates.

      Sorry for the late reply friend...... For one time registration - it is valid for 5 years . For Examination fee - bc candidates can avail only 3 free fee exemptions. For fourth exam onwards you should pay examination fee. If you have done the mistake don't worry, apply one more time with paying examination fee and use the second application for writing examination. If any doubt , contact tnpsc office

    will there be any change in the age limit for the forthcoming Group 1 advertisement... will there be any increase from 35 to 40

    My eligibility :- SSLC, Diploma (3 Years), BE.

    Am i eligible for group 1 exam. because in advertisement they have mentioned that SSLC, HSC, UG
    Degree is eligible. but i have not studied HSC (+2), i have studied only DIPLOMA after SSLC.

    Please reply.

    My eligibility :- SSLC, Diploma (3 Years), B.Sc(2 years,lateral entry),P.G. Diploma in Criminology and Forensic Science(1 year)and doing B.A. Police Administration


    basic pattern : 10+3+2

    Am i eligible for group 1 exam ?
