Lab Assistant Recruitment Procedure to be followed :
1. The List of candidates (District wise) for Certificate Verification in the 1:5 ratio (based on total vacancies of particular district) will be published by Chief Education Officers of each Districts.
2. The Certificate Verification will be commenced on 09.04.2017, 10.04.2017 and 11.04.2017 at the list of centers to be announced by the CEOs.
3. Final Rank List of candidates will be published based on the over all weightage marks (see below) scored by the candidates.
The Tamilnadu lab assistant exam final selection will be done according to the the School Education Department's G.O No.42 dated 06.03.2017 based on Hon'ble Madras High Courts directions. The following weightage system is proposed to be followed in the lab assistant recruitment.
Total Marks : 167 Marks
I.Written Exam - 150 Marks
II.Marks based on Certificates
1.Employment Registration Seniority ( 10 marks)
1-2 Years = 2 Marks
2-4 Years = 4 Marks
4-6 Years = 6 Marks
6-8 Years = 8 Marks
10 Years or more= 10 Marks
Marks for additional qualification (5 marks)
1. HSC - 2 marks

12-01-2017 : Lab Assistant Exam Result will be published soon - Hon'ble School Education Minister informed. The written exam for filling up 4362 Lab Assistant Posts in Tamil Nadu Government Higher Secondary Schools was conducted by TNDGE on 31-05-2015. Nearly 7,32,000 candidates have written the lab assistant examination throughout Tamilnadu. The result publishing process was temporarily stopped by the cases filed in the Hon'ble High Court and Supreme Court . Stalin has requested the Government of Tamilnadu to fill up the Lab Assistant vacancies in the Tamilnadu Government Schools based on the written exam marks obtained by the candidates not conducting interview. Previously, the Honourable High Court had suggested the Tamilnadu Government to choose some alternative methods replacing the proposed recruitment pattern of Government giving more importance to the interview marks than that of written exam marks. The lab assistant exam conducted in May 2015 and the examination was written by about 8 lakhs candidates .

Tamilnadu Government has informed in its reply to the Honourable High Court in the Lab Assistant Exam Case that there are about 21925 candidates have been qualified in 1:5 ration for the interview based on the marks scored in written exam. The final selection list in the lab assistant recruitment 2015 will be prepared as per the weightage marks. Interview will be conducted by Team headed by Chief Education Officers of respective districts.

The government also justified its selection method by saying, since the TN Lab Assistants involve in working with the chemicals in the lab, interview is necessary for the selection.

The High Court quoted the TNPSC Group 4 Exam, also a SSLC qualified examination, where there is no interview is conducted. The court said written exam only is enough, no need of interview for the Lab Assistant Recruitment.

What is the Lab Assistant Exam 2015 Expected Cut Off Marks ???
Since, 4362 Lab Assistant Posts have been distributed for all 32 districts of Tamilnadu Government. And also, the question paper too easy to the persons who have sincerely studied Samacheer Kalvi School Science Books, a well prepared person could get around 135-140 questions correct out of total 150 questions. And the cut off may vary from district to district. So we are unable to predict the exact Cutoff Marks for the Lab Assistant Exam 2015 . Tamilnadu Lab Assistant Exam 2015 was applied by more than 9 lakh candidates through out Tamilnadu. The SSLC qualification Lab assistant examination is conducted by the Department of School Education Tamilnadu for filling up about 4362 lab assistant posts in government schools through out Tamilnadu. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on 31-05-2015 (31st May 2015) from 10am to 12.30pm. There will be a written exam consists of 150 questions in the following pattern
