Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) Exam Not Required for Minority Education Institutions - Madras High Court Judgement

"Honourable Madras High Court in a remarkable judgement dated 24-08-2016 has ruled out that the TET Exam is not applicable for the Teachers Appointment in Aided / Un-Aided Minority-run Educational Institutes." 

Brief History of the Case :

Tamil Nadu Government, in a Government Order dated 15th November 2011 had instructed that all newly appointed Teachers in Government, Government Aided and Minority run institutions should be qualified in the Teachers Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the Government.  It also gave dead line for the teachers appointed after 28th August 2010 should clear the TET examination with in 5 years. 

Cases were filed in the Madras High Court against this Government Order by more than 300 teachers.

Quoting the Hon'ble Supreme Court's Judgement saying 'the 'RTE Act' of the Union Government will not applicable for the Minority Institutions' , the Madras High Court has given this remarkable Judgement.
