பூனேவிலுள்ள இந்திய திரைப்பட மற்றும் தொலைக்காட்சி நிறுவனத்தின் (Film and Television Institute of India - FTII) தலைவராக நடிகர் மாதவன் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளார். கூ.தக. : இந்திய திரைப்பட மற்றும் தொலைக்காட்சி நிறுவனம் (Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) இந்திய அரசின் தகவல் மற்றும் ஒளிபரப்புத் துறை அமைச்சகத்தின் கீழ் புது தில்லியில் ’இந்திய திரைப்பட நிறுவனம்’ (Film Institute of India) என்ற பெயரில் 1960-இல் துவக்கப்பட்டு, 1961-ஆண்டு முதல் திரைபடப் பயிற்சி வழங்கி வருகிறது. 1974-இல் இத்திரைப்படக் கல்லூரியை புனே நகரத்திற்கு மாற்றப்பட்டது. இந்த திரைப்படம் மற்றும் தொலைக்காட்சி கல்லூரி, பன்னாட்டு திரைப்படம் மற்றும் தொலைக்காட்சி பயிற்சி நிறுவனங்களின் மையமாக (International Liaison Centre of Schools of Cinema and Television) விளங்குகிறது.
